Summer Maintenance

summer maintenanceSummer is here, and with the changing of the seasons comes a change in your maintenance requirements. If your office is closed over the Christmas and New Year period, there are steps you can take to ensure the office is a clean and healthy environment when your staff return to work.

Pollen, allergens and dust are at their peak during the summer months, so it is important to ensure a regular cleaning schedule is maintained to reduce their impact on staff as much as possible.

Perishable Food

Before your office closes for the Christmas break, be sure to remove all perishable food. This includes food in the cupboard and fridge.

Take out the rubbish

If your office is going to be closed for any extended time, make sure you remove the rubbish from the office and meal areas. In our hot summers it doesn’t take long for food waste to become a health hazard.

In the summer months it is important to keep the restrooms clean and rubbish free. Odours can become more prominent in the heat and a fresh, clean restroom is especially important in summer to prevent the spread of germs.

Air Conditioners

Clean or replace the filters of your air conditioning system. Filters reduce the amount of dust that is released into the air.

Maintenance and/or Preventative Maintenance

Summer can be a great time to get those jobs done you just cannot get to during the year. And if you have less staff in the building, doing these jobs now can help lessen the impact on productivity. These could include having your carpet steam cleaned, professional window cleaning (inside and out), preventative pest management and maintenance of your outdoor areas and entrance ways.
